Yes, I suppose I shouldn't be annoyed, but...
As you may know I have been hyping up to see VNV Nation at the Pressurepoint with some people, really cheap tickets, a great band and what could have gone wrong? Tickets selling out? No, I thought of that and I pulled out every stop to make sure I got them quick.
So today I walked into the shop and asked if they had the tickets, my heart almost skipped a beat as I heard "Yeah sure" and the guy reached behind the counter. In a rush to get back to college, I paid the money, thanked him and ran out.
In the middle of class I finished up work and had a little time to check the ticket; VNV Nation, Pressurepoint, 8pm, 18+....18 PLUS?!!!? The official site AND myspace said all ages, not being one to lie about my age (I don't wanna get turned away at the door after being hyped up) I went back to the shop hoping for a printing error.
But, it was not meant to be, the show was 18+ and my ticket was refunded, BAH. Walking back to college I looked promisingly at Daves Manga store, but seeing as the money was borrowed I didn't want to throw it around on other stuff. *sigh*
On the good news (yes there is some) my dog came back from the vets, and I had that weird gravity elevator feeling all through that day as I worried about him. In case you didn't know, this trip to the vet would reveal if he had to be put down or not, something that terrified me just thinking about. The low down was that he seemed happy and full of energy, and that if there was any problem, it certainly wasn't deadly serious, however he will have to have his lungs seen to in a week or so.
In the long run, this journal is positive, I'm peeved (to say the least) that I won't get to see VNV Nation, and it could have been one of the greatest moments of my life, but knowing that my dog is relatively safe has given me peace of mind, and I would trade 1000s of VNV shows to spend one extra day with him.

much appreciated!
